Another blog post if you can believe it.

I haven’t updated my new blog yet, been kind of busy the past couple of days and the only time I seem to have is on my weekend. So, the only update I have for this week is that I still haven’t found a niche yet on what I intend to do with this blog. I like to write and perhaps this will help with that since any writing is always good practice.
I recently found out that a competition I had been a part of didn’t pan out as I had hoped but as disappointing as it was to find out that after two years I wouldn’t be published I find some encouragement in it. With two years worth of work and several more before that creating the actually story itself there is still an interest in the manuscript with an additional interst in my main character as a book alone. Unfortunately that project was kept secretive for the past couple of years so I have been unable to discuss it until now. And for the moment it’s best to keep it vague.
While the past couple of years have been devoted to writing, along with my real job, it didn’t leave me with much time to do much of anything else, like spend time with family, my now ex, or socialize with people I consider buddies. I expect that to change, although it’s only in theory since I haven’t actually put it into a practical application yet. I still intend to write although the focus won’t be entirely on the one project. During the latter half of ‘08 I skewed from my science fiction writings to something more modern day. I have notes galore and a few pages written however I’m not sure where I want to go with the actual story, it’s either comedy or drama, or dramedy? heh
Centered around a trial in a small town is a story line that has been done but this one is more personal since I have done jury duty and I’m not sure if I want to take the perspective of the accusing parties or the jury itself. The jury themselves were small town folk with diverse backgrounds and a few of them were quite intelligent. Those that understand me, know me well enough that I don’t talk often but I do listen and if there is one thing I enjoy it’s a discussion between intelligent people.
Anyway it’s just one of those projects I have on the burner, the other is a science fiction story bridging the origins of an alien species with modern times. The modern times being a few hundred years in the future, if that makes sense.
In other personal news I am assisting a fellow member of the TWiT army this week. DocWinters from Australia, a member of the St. John Ambulance, who has been deployed to assist in the efforts of the devastating fires that have ravaged Victoria. I wish Doc well and safety and am honored that I can help him out while he is away.
That’s all for the moment, you may now return to your regularly scheduled life, already in progress. ;)

Greetings and Salutations

Hey from Felix!

Working on this here blog to get myself more into the tech community like I should have done years ago. ;) Hope to have fun and get to know my fellow geeks a bit more and for them to know me a little more. I’m going to get some links here, most leading toward Leo Laporte: The Tech Guy, and the Twit Army, a great group of folks that are heavily involved in the tech community. More later!
